Christmas party

I went to Kim's Christmas party and it's pretty cool to have a break time before next week finals.

Christmas party? yes, i know what u guys are thinking about. For me, it depends to that person, of how you believe it.

I'm not intended to accept what they are believed but for me, it's just fine to learn their cultural. It's good to share some story about Prophet Isa by Muslim perceptive and Christian perceptive. And of course, I stand for what I believe as Muslim and I always proud for what I stand for. They respect my religion and we still can be a good friend.

Anyway, I had pretty much fun. The best part, I won the "best winter cookie" even actually, i'm not the one who made it. lol. kimberly did! The time they called my name I was like "w-h-a-t? is anyone else named Atika in this room? and everyone laughed at me" so being Atika, mulalah blur. hahaha. Thanks Kim! I got a raspberry lotion from bath and body works. Yummm.. it smells good. :) If you people wondering what the competition is about, it's actually cookies decoration competition. U just apply the icing creatively into the ready-made cookies.

i was quite insane at that night. there's the part when kim's aunt asked me why i spelled my name c-a-n-t-i-k instead of t-i-k-a on my glass (we put the name at our glass so people will not mistakenly take your glass). i was so blushing at that time! haha. padan muka syok sendiri lagi. i thought people will not care about it as i confirm that they will not know the meaning of it. hahaha. so someone translated it " tika just think she is pretty". hahahaha. dush kena. abes semua orang taw i like to syok sendiri. I just smiled and said "hee, just make fun for myself".

Then we had picture time. (hurm.. forgot to bring my camera ), proceed to story time and movie time.

In conclusion, good time! :)

This is what Ummi said that day,

Baca Al-Quran nie macam angkut air dari perigi gunakan bakul yang ada bekas2 arang.

Imangine that how come nak angkut air guna bakul yang ada lubang2? of course la air tue Akan tumpah rite? By that time sampai rumah, air Dlm bakul Dah habis Dah. Especially bila bakul tue ade bekas arang, lg useless la kerje kite tue.

Then Ummi said,

Memang macam useless Tapi Cuba Tika fikir ade tak benefit dye.

Then I answered,
Erm, maybe lama2 bakul tue jadi bersih.

So Ummi explained how it can be applied with al-quran. Kadang2 bila kita baca sekali rasa macam takde ape2 effect but bila kita jadikan al-Quran as routine, IA dapat membersihkan hati and at the end, hati jadi lebih tenang Dan mudahlah untuk focus dgn kerja lain.

Like, if bakul tadi Dah bersih, so bolehla gunakan bakul td gie pasar or anything else Sbb bakul tadi Dah tak kotor dah. :)

assalamualaikum!

woot woot !! finally atika update blog yang sangat berhabuk nie. thank you la encik amir naufa sebab after tengok awak update blog, akak pun rasa kena update jugak perkembangan terbaru sekarang. ;)

ok basically, sekarang tengah melepak ditemani secawan white chocolate mocha, a bottle of naked juice (mango juice), and my dearest lappy. white chocolate mocha sebab last night i didn't sleep well. tido after subuh which like kul 7 pagi baru lelap mata and then kena bangun kul 10pg sebab ade kelas finance. so 3 jam tido and actually inilah rutin harian sejak akhir2 nie. inilah juga puncanya i demam sekarang and disebabkan demam kenalah banyak minum juice. That's why i have the naked juice with me. hehe. okey. (why i should tell this? ---lame)

Tapi, actually main point nak cerita is the reason tak tido malam sebab asyik sangat buat research pasal derivative market and the implication to financial crisis. Basically, i'm doing some research about Lehman Brothers bankruptcy and because i nobb sangat financial term like subprime mortgage, leveraging, and default whatever so i end up googling everything about the definition and looking at youtube to have a better understanding on financial crisis. It's seems useless sebab actually i just need to do my part which is just the basic introduction on Lehman Brothers and its connection to derivative market but i feel grateful enough to do this assignment. by doing this, so next time if people talk about subprime crisis, credit crisis and what so ever at least, i know what they are talking about. Takdelah rasa macam katak bawah tempurung. belajar je theory tapi bila cakap pasal dunia luar dah tak taw nak apply macam mana.

This is my new resolution for maal hijrah.. i want to documentary everything that i know about finance and politics issue so it'll benefit for me in future. lagipun, as you see, i have a very bad writing skills. i bet by that time you read my post, u already got headache because of my unorganized sentences and idea. heee.... that's my problem. i have an idea but i don't know how to write. and i hate this! i'm more mathematical so if kasi bab kira-kira maybe i'm quite master tapi if ade assignment to write a paper, that the time i'll die.

okey now i don't know what to write. hehehehe.

must take FM exams next semester and make sure you passed it!

at least i already passed 3 SOA exams by that time i graduated. FM, P, MFE.

i've decided not to work in actuarial industry so, i am not going to take the C and MLC exam.

get at least 3.8 gpa for next semester to improve my cgpa! and i should do A LOT of work to improve my communication skills, writing, public speaking and expand my networking portfolio.

okey cakap macam senang, tapi actually banyak benda kena buat. maybe maximum time boleh tido just 4 jam. takpelah, berkorban sekejap sebab i know i'll benefit me in future. at least, i take note here.

and most important thing, kena kuatkan lagi my relationship dengan Allah. and i need to accept every fate that He already made for me!

Hari ini sangat gembira! Dua open house and it really makes my day.

Dengan bangganya nak cakap pagi nie I woke up so early even actually it's already 7.30. Well, for me it's still could be considered early because it's weekend! :P

Menu hari ini ialah:

Thanks for the girls yang masak. It was so delicious especially kuah kacang. Rumaidhak, my housemate yang masak. Thank you, Mai. :)

Anyway, the first open house was at the boy's house. diorang pun masak special food like nasi lemak and spaghetti. Special tak boys yang masak? Hehe. It turned to be good and I like it. Hopefully, in future dapat husband yang pandai masak jugak so that fair la kan husband and wife masak. Hehe.

Then, also we got a surprised for mr Shamel as his birthday will be tomorrow.

Then, after raya dekat sana, kami pergi pulak ke Ankeny. It's like 15 minutes from DES
Moines. So, raya dekat sana pulak. Actually dah lama nak organize this party sebab nak make sure our American friends dpt rasa our traditional food. At first rasa takut jugak yalah sebab most of the food pedas sikit. But, last-last all the food licin and Ramai yang ckp sedap. Rasa bangga sekejap. Hehe.

Then, as usual after cakap-cakap, makan-makan kami pun bermain board games.

So in conclusion, it was a great day and good to know many new people and gain a lot of new knowledge. Especially, bab-bab marriage. Hehe.

one day before my birthday, Kimberly and I had some shopping and movie! we had LAST SONG movie! the movie was awesome good! We cried a lot. I annoyed Miley Cyrus before this but this movie really gave a new perception of her. and and, bf dia hot. :D we had special dinner and we shopped at FOREVER 21. For the hope I'll be forever 21! I got I Tunes gift card valued $15. Yeah! boleh beli lagu and download apps banyak! and she also made a special notebook with stated my name on it. I love that notebook so much. cute! Kim also gave me a set of hand lotion. love it love it!! I love her so much. here, she always be the one who listen to my problems. She's like a big sister for me. I love u, Kim!

that night, came back from movie, Nadia my housemate baked me an indulgence cake! yummy!! thanks Nadia. Then I decided to sleep early but the Temple girls woke me up and forced me to open skype. OMG!!! They sent me a video and the video was super FUN! I heart them so much. I miss you guys. The thing I always thank to God as He sent me to Inti and there I met the girls. It's like one of the precious thing ever! I heart them so much!

And and Erza and Firdaus got me a cute LADY BUG necklace. As they said, "ladybug ni means for a 21st LADY ye takde dah girl girl " hahahaha. isn't that funny?

Also special thanks to Shafiq who called me and sang the birthday song for me and ummi who had touched me so much with her email. love love love !!!

Yes, I had so much FUN. Will have final exams next next week and thennnnnnn start packing and i'm flying back to MALAYSIA. Yeahhhhh!!!!

hi everyone!

finally, a relieved week for me! yeahhhh yeahhhh!!

i really had "fun" with FIVE exams last week and today i got almost my paper back. my result? oh ho ho. well, i'm not smart enough. :P

kita belajar untuk dapat ilmu kan kawan2. markah tak penting :))

then, at weekend, it was DRAKE RELAYS. it's like once a year event and the biggest event at Drake. we paint the street and people enjoying splashing paint to each other. it's really FUN. it's like a color festival when everyone not only paint the street but also paint their face! FUNNY.

pity me for had to leave that place early as I need to work that evening.

came back from work, took a bath and straight to "tahlil' for Izuan's grandma. actually the tahlil was at my house. it's funny when I forced to embrace myself, took a bath while everyone at my house. well, i need it because I don't want people smell me with milk. (my job is to refill milk at dining hall :P)

straight after the tahlil, we went for bbq infront of my house. ayam ikan daging sotong bakar. sume ada. YUMMY YUMMY :D (p/s: now, i'm like a monster when it comes to FOOD. I can eat THREE full plates of rice. uh huu. SCARY ! :P )

we had really amazing night. I lost my mind that day where I couldn't stop talking. well, I had been isolated myself in library that week. so, i deserve for it. :)

so... thats my week.

Actually the reason nak amik Finance major sebab I have more passion in Finance than Act Sci Major. Alhamdullillah, I got chance going to business school and here i learnt everything about business. If dulu baca saham pun tak pandai and now I even know how to invest in company. Thanks to Yahoo Finance. :)

this year gonna be the most memorable new year eve for me because finally, i got chance to celebrate new year at times square with beloved friends!

this winter break, i spent most of my breaks visiting friends at philadelphia and went to washington dc and new york.

the best part of my vacation ialah peluang utk jumpa mereka2 yg disayangi. Ya Allah!! the feeling bila jumpa diorg x boleh terkata. the moment they surprised me at airport mmg akan igt sampai bila2.

they are very special special special and special to me. thats why bila berpisah dgn diorg, rasa sedih2 sgt2. every time i wake up, i will remember them.

Friday - fun begin. we went to Valley West Mall to buy some fall clothing but ended not to buy anythg. n someone treat us mcd :)

Saturday morning - went to International Sports Day organized by ISA and MASA. Actually not participated in any event but enjoying cheering guys playing basketball, dolge ball n volley ball.

on the way back home, we stopped by at Drake Stadium to watch football game with free ticket. :) Drake won!

Saturday evening till midnite - went to Emilly's house for her birthday celebration. Just a small group of people but we had a lot of fun wit snack and boarding game.

and

Sunday! yeah...... back to study. Got Statistic test on Monday.

can't wait for weekend to come again...

mintak maaf kwn2 lagi2 kepada encik shafiq sebab janji nak update blog selalu tapi tak update2 pun.
okey,masuk hari ni dah 10 hari duk di des moines. wow.. 10days. giler lama. rasa baru semalam je sampai sebab xde pun satu hari yg free. if free tdo. takpun shoping. hehehe. btw, sini barang2 murah ok. so, temptation nak shoping sgt2 la tinggi. nasib baek kwn2 ku kat sini x suka shoping. huhu... tapi, i need to find my shoping partner. mana kawan2 inti nie? sob3.

so far, drake best. best sbb tak start kelas lg. student sini amatla friendly. bukan student, makcik2 yg shoping kat wallmart pun friendly gak. even dalam bas ley sempat borak2. sekurang2nye.. akan improve sikit english after this. huhu. i f met very nice people here. but, kata ummi, jgn percaya sgt mereka.. sbb diorg memeng mulut manis.

sekarang tggl di drake park apartment. tempat nie nice la. got swimming pool and the rent just $140 monthly. hehehe. jgn jeles kwn2. campur bil electric + internet + mkn2 ada la dlm $250. yeah!! duit shoping byk. hehehe.... tapi kan, bill phone mahal la. about $60 per month. i'm using t mobile rite now. nasib baik ada ssn number. ley dpt hp yg amat murah.... i just bought express music for $50. kalau nak beli blackberry kena bayar internet for $30 monthly. x mampu la den. hehehe....

owh ya. my apartment depat fraternity and sorority house. x dpt join jengah2 diorg pun jadila. hehe.

Thanks for contacting me. Drake will provide up to 3 nights accomodation, so I'll try to find something for you. If you do not already have housing, Drake West Village is a good place. They are very close to campus and provide furniture, which other apartments do not. I'm attaching a document with their website so you can contact them.

We'll take care of the health insurance waiver. We have a list of sponsored students, so we already know which students will need a waiver.

I'm still working on getting things arranged to pick you up at the airport, so I will contact you soon with information on who will pick you up.

sekarang barang da siap packing, urusan lain insyaAllah dah setel, cuma tinggal nak sediakan mental dan fizikal untuk melalui masa2 akan datang. pelik kan perasaan ni. kdg2 rasa excited sgt, tapi at the same time takut, sedih, risau. sume campur2. excited sebab nak mulakan hidup baru, takut sebab takut x dpt adapt life kat sana, n sedih sebab bakal tgglkan org2 tersayang di malaysia. tambah2 lagi dekat drake nnti xde org yg betul2 kenal. alhamdulillah, a group of malay guyz from mara akan pergi drake jugak. hopefully boley blend in dgn diorg. tapi x taw la. betul ckp one of my friends.. bile umur kite dah 20thn nie, tendency nak carik kwn baru kurang. ermmm, xpela... we wait n we see.. hopefully Allah bukakan hati ak untuk terima diorg.

Alhamdulillah... finally dah nampak sikit cahaya utk pergi ke us:

dan today... dapat berita yg sgt2 gembira yg da ubah my persepsi i'm not a loser. it just me yg rasa mcm tue. :( ... no no. x boleh masam2 lg. i'm happy nowwwwww....... thank you Allah. :):):)

erm.. okey about uni pulak, i know, Allah ada His own reason letakkan atika di drake. alone without kawan2 yg amat best. its ok.... inilah permulaan untuk hidup berdikari. jadi lebih matang, lebih terbuka fikiran dan lebih rajin utk belajar. and again.... thank you Allah. InsyaAllah, Drake is the place for me untuk membentuk atika yg baru.

the last time i visit mozac, cikgu2 semua ckp... atika, kamu da berubah sekarang. cara kamu ckp pun da berubah... thanks cikgu. :)

i feel kinda tired today. >.<

i could not sleep last nite because of dont-know-why, then this morning, i have to sent amir to kuis (kolej university islam selangor). kuis is lyke adik to uia. so, its mean, amir gonna have 'sekolah agama lyfe'. i dun know whether he could survive there or not wit 20credit hours for this sem. hope he can learn from the past mistakes.

and... the significance is, amir is starting his new journey away from home for the first tyme ever in his life! haha. not wonder y muka mcm nak nangis td when umi said bye bye to him.

look at these two pictures. they r cute rite? farhana and anis are my cousins. i was very shocked when i received a card from this cutie gurls yesterday. the card was drawn by anis (2years old n half) and wrote by farhana (7years old). the card is really cute wit anis and farhana holding my hand and marsha(my grandma's cat) beside me. the card goes like this..

Ummi, u r suach a great woman. if ibu lain suka amat dgn jewellary or fashion things, my ummi sgt obsessed dgn gadget! i f a cool mom. hehe. umi skrg ada laptop. (ini merupakan laptop ke3 :) a pda, video recorder, digital camera dan al-quran digital. n ummi's hobby is video making. byk sudah video yg ummi sudah hasilkan. dan ummi juga mempunyai utube channel dan blog. and..... ummi merupakan camerawoman di mozac. ummi, tika kagum dgn ummi. :)

blog nie dah berhabuk agaknya. dah lama x update.

erm...

sejak akhir2 nie..

selalu je menangis. x taw la knp tb2 jd lemah semangat.

rasa mcm xde kudrat nak bt ape2. alhamdulillah masih seorg islam.yang ada akal fikiran utk teruskan kehidupan. ha ha. (ckp mcm kena tinpa musibah apa lah kan). umi ckp nie baru Allah nak uji sikit. erm, tq umi 4 ur advice. tp setelah 20tahun hidup dekat bumi ni, inilah dugaan paling tika x tahan. berat sangat rasanya. tika tahu nie salah tika sendiri. tp tika x sangka mcm nie sekali Allah nak uji. orang lain sume berbangga, tp tika x habis2 rasa diri tika nie loser umi. benci sgt perasaan nie.

tp syukur. ada umi yg x henti2 kasi nasihat. kawan2 yang selalu bt tika ceria. n shafiq yg tetap beri semangat dekat tika. tika bersyukur dikurniakan org2 mcm nie. tp biasalh. ceria2.. pastue mlm2 nanti start menangis balik. sampai mata pun bengkak. dah dua minggu kot tika jd mcm nie. ermm.

ok. sekarang rasa nak stop fikir bukan2. i'm sure enough Allah loves me n everything He did has its own hikmah. x guna menangis. mcm umi ckp, org yang senang menangis nie lemah. oh gosh! i'm not that lemah person. atika means berani!!
